ABC & NACE "State of Our Union" - Education and Fundraiser

As an Orlando based wedding and event planner, I have had the opportunity to work with some of the best event professionals in the area.  I have also been a member  of the Association of Bridal Consultants for seven years now and as a member, I have attended some of the best conferences, met some wonderful industry leaders and have been able to hone and grow my craft.  Last month the Central Florida East LNG of the Association of Bridal Consultants was invited to join the Orlando Chapter of the National Association of Catering Executives (NACE) for a joint meeting at the World Center Marriott.  ABC joined NACE as June is typically our fundraiser that benefits Habitat for Humanity ("Showers of Happiness").  Our collaboration meant that the local Habitat would have three times the audience they normally have at our monthly meetings.   The collaboration also gave our members the opportunity to network with NACE members and hear the great Linnyette Richardson-Hall's presentation regarding the wedding industry.

The challenge: Design 8 tables around the colors of platinum and white.  I had the distinct pleasure of working with Jennifer Welsh at Over the Top Linen, Tommy Murphy of Greenery Productions and Ann Taylor at A Chair Affair.  Jennifer brought us linens that fell within the palette we were instructed to use. However, if you know me and furthermore if you know Jennifer Welsh & Tommy Murphy, we don't like to follow rules!  Below are some of the photos of our areas along with a few snapshots of the different areas.

Design Area 1: Twisted Sister

Linens - Over the Top Inc.
Chiavari Chairs - A Chair Affair
Floral Artistry - Greenery Production

We loved the charger plates you see above, we loved them even more when Tommy placed a mirrored charger beneath it.  Creative twist:  using beautiful beaded bracelets as napkin rings.

Design Area 2: Cascading Love
Event Planner: Joie de Vie Weddings & Events, Inc.
Linens - Over the Top Inc.
Chiavari Chairs - A Chair Affair

I loved designing the menus above.  We mimicked the patter on the linens from the table to create the round menu's that sat in the charger plates.  Tommy and his awesome team hand cut the napkin rings above and the same bling mesh was used to tie the back of the chairs.

I loved this cake because it was inspired by the linens from both areas.  The awesome and talented pastry team designed cakes to represent each area!

Of course our area was not the entire showcase.  The day came together in part because of the amazing event professionals below:
