The Fall 2012 Fashion Color Report: The Magic of Color

Fashion week kicked off yesterday in New York! It will be a great week of seeing new trends, colors and ideas for our wardrobes this fall.  With Fashion week comes the report we typically wait for: The Pantone Fashion Color Report!  The Pantone Color Institute will typically survey the designers of New York Fashion Week and designers from all over the world to bring you the season’s most important color trends. The fall report was released and it previews the most prominent hues for fall 2012.

In our wedding world, the Pantone Color report is essential in determining many of the colors you will see in bridal wear for your attendants!  I love the report because it helps our couples think of non traditional color pairings when designing the look of their most important day.  We have reported the new colors every season and were delighted to see some of the suggested pairings from many of our most noted designers.

As the report states:

The Fall 2012 report is titled the Magic of Color!  From love potions and the magical hour of sunset to witches and warlocks, fantasy and illusion are inspiring designers this fall season. With an unexpected mix of darks, brights and neutrals, they cleverly manipulate reality to transport consumers to an enchanting place, free from the stresses of everyday life.
“By playing to consumers’ practical side with versatile neutrals, and boosting their confidence with bold, spirited hues, this skillfully balanced palette has something for everyone,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®.

The list above represents the full color list as well as the Pantone and CMYK codes to get the perfect match for the colors (awesome when designing your stationery suite).  Remember the Tangerine Tango is the 2012 color of the year! My favorites are the Rhubarb, Rhapsody, Sea Fog and the Bright Chartreuse.  The mix of vibrant colors will surely make your fall wedding an unforgettable one!

If you would like a full copy of the report contact us and we will gladly email it to you or if you prefer, you can download it here.

Until next time,

Finally! Some color advice. I love it when couples have a cleverly chosen set of colors for their outfits.
