Thursday Travels! Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa

We have started a bi-monthly feature on the Joie de Vie Blog! Twice a month we will feature some of our great wedding venues in Central Florida. We will call this feature our Thursday Travels and it will give you an opportunity to see many of the great venues that you can host your wedding, social or corporate event at. Our goal is to give you a snippet of what your event can be at that particular location.

Our first featured venue is The Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa. This venue is still under construction (Opening December 2009), however, Jennifer Payne, the Catering Sales Manager invited us over to take a sneak peek. Last Wednesday, we travelled down to Clearwater for our visit. I went down with my colleague and 'gab' pal, Evelyn Duran. We met up with the ever fabulous Carrie Wildes to go on an excursion of sorts and visit the new Hyatt. With our hard hats and glasses (safety first!) we went on our tour. Three words to describe the new Hyatt Regency: FABULOUS, BREATHTAKING and MEMORABLE.

This is a view of the hotel as it is now under construction. It is amazing!

If cool, chic and a contemporary style describes you, this is your venue for your next event. They will be able to host intimate weddings on the beach as well as great events in their ballroom, or the many beautiful terraces on property. Jennifer and her staff are designing menus that everyone will be able to customize.

Here are a few facts you may find interesting:
• 250 guestroom suites, including 133 deluxe suites, 79 one-bedroom suites, 37 two-bedroom suites, 13 accessible rooms, and Presidential suite (1)
All accommodations offer:
• Walk out balconies with Gulf of Mexico and sunset views
• Full kitchen: full-size refrigerator, microwave, stove top, dishwasher
• Hyatt Grand Bed™
• 42-inch flat screen television in the rooms
•Below are a few more photos to give you an idea of what to expect:

As for their event space:
•12,000 square feet of indoor function space including the 4,000-square-foot ballroom.
•20,000 square feet of private outdoor function space including the 4,400-squarefoot Roof Top Terrace, eight private 900-square-foot terraces with adjoining suites and the 8th floor pool deck terrace all overlooking the Gulf of Mexico.
•The Outdoor space can be covered (YES An effective B Plan before you even need it!)

Here are a few of the construction site photos:

The view from one of the terraces.

Looking across at another private terrace. The terrace is large enough to hold a great private party and the chef can even come up to your suite and prepare your food!

Saved this photo for last! I had a blast with these ladies. We are working hard!

We can't wait for the grand opening in December. They have begun to book weddings and special events. Yes, the brides are booking based on what they've seen so far. The Hyatt Regency Clearwater beach is beautiful, swanky and super chic!

Until next time,

Don't forget that this October your comments on the blog help great initiatives for Breast Cancer research and awareness.
