As we at Joie de Vie Weddings & Events sit with our clients to develop a design and decor concept for their event; we are always looking at way to make the day stand out! Event furnishing has become a necessary part of making weddings, corporate events, private parties or fundraisers stand out. You as a bride can add a touch of your personality by adding furniture groupings to create warm and inviting spaces for your special day. One of our favorite furniture rental professionals is Room Service Furniture and Event Rentals. I had the pleasure of meeting their local representative, Lindsay Cosimi, a year ago and I've always loved her attention to detail as she works with our vendor teams to ensure every detail is not overlooked with furniture selection.

Tell us a little about your business and the services you offer: We specialize in upscale event furnishings and accent pieces. I believe what makes Room Service different is our attention to customer service. We pride ourselves in the fact that our Design Team is ready to make assist in the furniture layout, that our Creative Services is ready and willing to customize every order with logos on pillow and bars and slipcovers on sofas and ottomans and that our Delivery Team is hand-picked to be the best in the industry at communicating on-site with our customers, moving furniture just a pinch to line it up perfect and hand clean every piece on site!! I truly believe this, coupled with our unbelievable, one-of-a-kind inventory keeps our customers coming back again and again.

How did you get started? When interviewing for this position I met Greg Zalkin, owner and founder and was impressed with where this young company was going – I just knew I wanted to be a part of it! Greg is a visionary who believes in exceeding every client’s expectations big or small, who insists on keeping inventory fresh with new ideas from team members or clients alike and will do everything it takes to make Room Service the number one furniture provider in the nation!

Any industry awards or recognition? Event Solutions - 2009 Event Supplier of the Year Finalist, Event Solutions - 2008 Rental Company of the Year Finalist, ISES Spirit Awards – Best Collaborative ISES Event

Furthest place and/or interesting place you’ve travelled to while working on a wedding assignment? I am usually confined to my territory so the interesting places I see are loading docks and ballrooms. I always enjoy when someone places furniture in exciting new places, like a group at the Gaylord Palms had their dinner on the sand volleyball court once.

What are a few suggestions you would make to couples as they are selecting a professional in your service are for their special day? Although times are tight, it is still possible to have the wedding that you want. Think about what elements are the most important to achieving the desired effect. I also think that doing something unexpected can leave a lasting impression – Lounge furniture instead of highboys at the cocktail hour, bench seating at the ceremony and soft lounge seating at the reception around the dance floor.

What are the trends and innovations in your service area? Lounge seating is HOT for weddings, but there are many ways to utilize it. Some people are consider rectangular tables with bench seating our booth seating for intimate weddings; some people are seating the bride and groom in a special lounge area; some people are surrounding the dance floor with lounge areas to encourage people to leave their dinner table; some people are doing an entire lounge feel for the cocktail hour or some people are using alternative seating for their ceremony like benches and ottomans!

If you weren't a working in this industry, what field would you be in instead? Why? I tried leaving the industry and I only made it five months away. I think I found out first hand that this is where I want to be.

Favorite Reality Show? Top Chef, I love to see ideas that they come up with and listen to the judges critique

What show do you Tivo/DVR? Gossip Girl (Kerline's guilty pleasure, too!), Top Chef – also I have some wedding shows permanently saved on my DVR like “Gorgeous and Green,” a special by Martha Stewart Weddings.
